The lowdown: Gore were travelling along nicely until the past few weeks with losses to Dunstan and South Otago hurting their top-four aspirations. They have performed admirably all season and have held their own against some of the bigger schools, which was evidenced in a close loss to Otago Boys’. Gore co-coach Martin Powley said he was impressed with the way the team was going.
“I’m very happy with the way we’ve stepped up. We’re very young in the backs. They have a really good attitude.”
He said it was a team for the future with 70 per cent of the side expected to be back next year.
